Tis the season for tea! And warm feelings! Like tea in the belly! And good friends! To have tea with!

We have a hot pot of Peppermint Black Tea today, free for all, and all for the Christmas Spirit. If it is an empty pot when you get there, let me know, and I’ll make another batch. Lets all enjoy together.

Good afternoon everyone,

Today’s tea is fairly pure is blends go. It is a oolong mix that contains Chinese Oolong from Fuijan province which is floral and a bit herbaceous, and Formosa  Oolong from Taiwan which is a bit toasty and sweet. Together it is a lovely mix of oolongs, light and warming, and very much the quintessential oolong tea blend.

Good Afternoon Everyone!

Oh glorious sunshine! I may sing along to any carol that has to do with snow for the holidays, but deep down I do love this sunshine. The days where it is snowy, and then the sun comes out like something fierce? Well I am nearly beside myself with joy. But I will take ½ of the equation any day. How about yourself? Does it remind you of warm weather? Of gardens blooming robustly? Of berries plump and juicy ready for you to snatch off the bush? Well, if the sun doesn’t, my Rose and Berry Green tea certainly will.

Fruity, floral, and just simply reminiscent of all good summer days past and of those yet to come.

Good afternoon everyone,

If you were lucky, you got to be charmed by little Sophia today – Don’s little girl. She, being a little lady of 7 months, is of course made from sugar and spice and everything nice. It is only appropriate that our tea is pink and a little cheeky – like all little girls are.

So today we have a caffeine-free rooibos, flavoured with hibiscus, mango, lemon, lime, and a little bit of stevia – a natural sweetener (Sophia herself is very sweet after all.)

Good afternoon everyone,

On the weekend I went carolling. I may not be the strongest singer, but I make up for it in enthusiasm. And my singing, apparently, is very contagious. I can almost always get dogs to howl along. Ahem. The carolling was at a old heritage house that was decorated in the Victorian style for Christmas. So not only did I shatter antique glass with my pipes, but I also got a tour of the place. And in the kitchen there was an old cast iron stove that was heating up the kitchen with a smoldering ember wood fire. Magical. Then, as a treat, they had baked some authentic Victorian Christmas desserts in the wood burning oven. Short bread, sugar cookies, ginger snaps…and figgy pudding.

Figgy. Pudding.

So I might have more than my share of figgy pudding.  But to be fair, I love figs. And having it drizzled in caramel butter sauce… cooked by a wooden fire…I don’t think you could have had anything more magical. Except for tea. To try to replicate some of this delicious treat for you guys, I’ve blended a fig, cranberry, almond, date and Pu’erh tea today. It is a inspired tea that is so delicious, that you will most certainly forgive my carolling out bursts when I feel a Christmas song coming on…
