Good afternoon everyone!
What does the tea I am serving today have in common with wine and whiskey? Age. This is another tea, called Pu’erh, and it has been fermented for 5 years – a drop in the bucket in the Pu’erh world actually. These teas are highly prized (expensive) items, and you can have bricks of it more than a hundred years old that are fine to brew and delicious to drink. Well… delicious…for some. This is not your typical tea, and I highly recommend you give this tea a try. The biggest benefit this tea has is on your digestive system – this has been claimed as the Asian weight loss secret for years, and while that’s a little far fetched it certainly helps. It unbinds the stuck fats and oils in your bowels, and eventually leaves a clean house (in a non-prune-esque way)
So try it, and see if you like it. Currently hot under the tea cozy.
